kevin yost

Kevin Yost presents the 5th edition of his Small Town Underground series.

One of America's best young house producers, Kevin Yost has translated his jazz inspirations and percussion inclinations into dance productions of quiet beauty, harnessing the vibes of sublime domestic producers from Larry Heard to Derrick May. An early fan of jazz fusion and a drummer as well, Yost was DJing weddings and the like at the tender age of 13.
A contract with Chicago's Guidance label brought his first release, a 1996 EP titled Unprotected Sax. One year later, Yost signed a contract to begin working with the New Jersey acid-jazz-house label i! Records, and in 1998, the single "One Starry Night" became a big mover in progressive house circles.

Kevin Yost returns once again with his SMALL TOWN UNDERGROUND Series.
The overwhelming success of the first 3 parts have helped carve out a place for Mr. Yost in house music history as well as formulate a highly successful DJ career.
This fifth edition of the series focuses on Kevin’s evolution from small town boy to world class DJ. On this CD he delivers not only what people classify as the classic Yost sound, but also a new focus on the deep house genre, of course all skillfully mixed together as only he can do. Included in this 78 Minute masterpiece are Yost’s 2008 hits, “Get The Horns” & “Too Cool For Me”.
Also featured are new unreleased projects from Kevin, as well premier label artists, “Erik Faust, Franco Harris, & Nivek Tsoy.

Yost released the first mix album Small Town Underground through the Label Twisted/MCA in February 9, 1999, with contributions from like-minds Euphonic and Fredrik Stark among others.
all the earlier 4th Small town underground releases are Mixed Dj Set by Kevin, in the 5th release he give us the bonus with Separated track cd & mixed one.
